The SAFETY Blood Collection/Infusion Set is a single-use, sterile, winged blood collection needle bonded to a flexible tubing with a luer connector.  The SAFETY Blood Collection/Infusion Set is used for blood collection and/or the short-term infusion of intravenous fluids. The winged needle is designed with a safety shield, which can be activated to cover the needle immediately following venipuncture to aid in the protection against
accidental needlestick injury.
The device is to be used exclusively by healthcare professionals trained in phlebotomy and infusion procedures in healthcare settings such as hospitals, clinics, and laboratories. The device is suitable for use in neonatal, pediatric, adult and elderly patient populations. The needle is inserted into a peripheral vein suitable for venipuncture to establish venous access, allowing for blood collection for in vitro diagnostic testing or short-term infusion up to 5 hours (applicable for all variants). When used for blood collection the product is designed to be used with one or multiple venous blood collection tubes. If used only with the female connector, the product is compatible with different male Luer devices.
