Konilube Sterile Lubricating Jelly is a water-soluble sterile lubricating gel that does not contain paraben, carbomer and glycerine. This gel is used in endoscopy, colonoscopy, gynaecological examinations, rectal endoscopic, catheter operations, also used for vaginal lubrication.

Konilube Sterile Lubricating Jelly will be used to lubricate the insertion and passage of imaging devices such as endoscopes, ultrasound transducers, and transesophageal echocardiography transducers, catheters and surgical instrumentation, gynecologic and rectal examinations.

Carbomer-free gels are used for cervical smears because carbomers can significantly interfere with the processing and accuracy of liquid-based Pap tests. Using a gel containing carbomers increases the likelihood of a specimen being reported as “unsatisfactory,” which may require the patient to repeat the procedure
